Your Yorkshire Time (Holiday Cottages) – House Keeper

Your Yorkshire Time is the trading name of Holiday Homes At Heart Limited, a family-owned local holiday cottage business.  We prepare and look after our holiday cottages for visitors to the wider Holmfirth and Penistone area.  Our work is driven by when our guests want to come and stay, which is all year round.  We have a base in Penistone and Holmfirth.  We are totally focussed on our guests who stay with us.

We can offer progression from team members to senior housekeepers and property quality management roles. We don’t like askew blinds, cobwebs, or dirty coffee machines.  We do like fresh smelling, thoroughly clean and beautifully presented, warm and welcoming luxury cottages. If you do too… why not join us? We are looking to recruit one to three new housekeepers to join us, as we add more cottages to our portfolio and demand from guests continues to grow. These jobs will be based in the Holmfirth and Penistone area and involve daily travel to and around all our different properties, with one just inside the Peak District in the hamlet of Lane, just outside Holme village.

All the jobs are permanent, but you can work on a full or part time basis, provided you can be flexible on the days you work – which will include some weekends and Bank Holidays.

Your responsibilities will include cleaning and dressing the cottages ready for guests. You will also notice and report on damage, missing items and property left by guests and manage hot tub and fire safety. We have a structured process which will help you with this.

You do need to be a confident reader and record keeper. A full, clean, UK driving licence is desirable as you will ideally be able to drive yourself to the properties.  You don’t need to be an experienced housekeeper to join us, as training will be given, but you’ll need to be highly organised and have a great eye for detail. It’s also important that you really care about our guests’ experience and you’ll want to work hard to achieve our company goals.

Pay starts from £12 an hour, with progression to £14 after three months, based on performance (regardless of age). In addition we offer: • guaranteed hours all year round • travel time to get to and between cottages • sick and generous holiday pay • pension scheme with employer contribution.
