Vocal Expressions Ladies Choir Rehearsals

7:30pm – 9:30pm
Every Thursday
Venue: St David’s Church, Holmbridge
https://www.vocalexpressions.co.uk/

If you love singing and think you might like to join a choir, why not come along to one of our rehearsals at Holmbridge Village Hall and see if Vocal Expressions is for you? You will be made to feel very welcome.

Rehearsals are normally from 19:30 to 21:30 on Thursday. However we are currently rehearsing from 7:30 to 9pm without a break, with good ventilation ( so wrap up warm) and social distancing. We have just begun singing without masks, but you are welcome to wear one if you prefer.

It is not necessary to read music, although it helps and there are no auditions. Enthusiasm, commitment, and a love of singing, are all that you need. We rehearse using music, but perform without it.

Sharing Memories Group, established in the mid 1990s and is made up of older people living in the rural Holme Valley on the outskirts of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

We see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, since our beginnings we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Arts Organization upon: support, empowerment, positive change and sharing. The aim of the group is to bring together older people to share their memories of the past with each other and with the wider community and to use these shared memories as a basis for creating high quality art works. With the support of three artists, Sharing Memories works with local schools and other community groups on a range of projects which serve to both celebrate and interpret our lives and our locality.
