LEARNING ACCORD MULTI ACADEMY TRUST 

FINANCE AND ESTATES ASSISTANT 

Learning Accord MAT has secured DfE grant funding through the Trust Capacity Fund  (TCaF) and is able to offer a new role of Finance and Estates Assistant, 37 hours/week TTO  on a fixed term contract to 31st August 2025 in the first instance. 

Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer, Chief Finance Officer, Estates Manager, Finance  Manager 

Key Contacts: Senior Leaders, MAT Trustees, Academy Heads, MAT Business Managers,  Auditors, Diocese of Leeds. 

Salary: Grade 6 (£24,294 pro-rata) 

Work Time: 37 hours per week, term time only, fixed term contract to 31st August 2025 in  the first instance 

Base: MAT HQ, Skelmanthorpe Academy Nursery Building, Elm Street,  Skelmanthorpe, Huddersfield, HD8 9DZ 

Start Date: 1st June 2024 

This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to play a key role within the Learning Accord Multi Academy Trust based in Kirklees and Calderdale. The Trust currently has eleven schools and is expanding. 

The CFO, EM and FM are seeking to appoint a committed, organised and enthusiastic Finance  and Estates Assistant to support the operational finance and estates functions within this  caring and welcoming academy community. They will support the EM and FM and support the day-to-day financial and estates operations that enable the MAT to operate effectively,  efficiently and compliantly ensuring compliance and best value for money. 

We are looking for candidates who can: 

  • Support the operations of the financial functions of the MAT.
  • Support the operations of the estates functions of the MAT.
  • Promote the highest professional standards of business ethos within the financial and estates function.
  • Support the School Business Managers.

We are looking for candidates who: 

  • Have experience of a similar role in either a school, college, public or private sector
  • Are highly efficient and organised and always ensure attention to detail. Have a good working knowledge of excel.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, thrive under pressure and embrace change.
  • Will thrive as working as part of a small team but with the ability to work under their own initiative.

A Disclosure and Barring check will be required. The appointment will be subject to a 6- month probation period.
