Credit Controller (part-time)

1. Plevin & Sons is a UK market leader in wood recycling and a manufacturer of animal bedding. Plevin is a family owned company with an established reputation in the industry.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join our busy team based in Crow Edge, (nr Penistone & Holmfirth) South Yorkshire S36 4HG. Working on a part-time, permanent basis you will receive a competitive salary.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday – 30 hours per week (6 hours per day during office opening hours)

The role holder will be responsible for controlling the receipt of payments (credit control) and will provide accounts and administration support to the team.

As our Credit Controller your duties will include:

• Ensuring all new customer accounts are set up correctly on the system, working closely with the Sales Department.
• Verifying the status of the customer account.
• Producing and sending customer statements of account.
• Posting receipts of cash and allocating payments daily.
• Proactively prompting customers for prompt payment.
• Responsibility for chasing debtors that need specific attention.
• Recording accurate information on chased payments and resolving queries as required.
• Posting invoices created by the weighbridge uploads, checking the accuracy of the information, and ensuring customers receive a copy of the invoices.
• General administrative and accounts duties, including providing support in the absence of other members of the accounts team.

Key skills and experience needed to become our Credit Controller:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Customer service focused
• Computer literate – with a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications
• Previous experience of working in accounts
• AAT Qualifications desirable
• Working knowledge of Sage 200 desirable

£14.53 per hour
