Material Processor/ Machine Driver

1. Plevin & Sons is a UK market leader in wood recycling and a manufacturer of animal bedding.

We are looking to recruit a permanent Material Processor/ Machine Driver (4 on 4 off day shift) to join our busy operation based at Whams Road, Crow Edge (Near Penistone) S36 4HG.

As our Material Processor your duties will include:

• Loading material into trailers, ensuring the safe working procedures are followed
• Moving (wood-based) materials for onward processing
• Loading the hoppers and running the shredding machines
• Operating the Bruks plant (full training will be given)
• Replenishing wood material into stacks
• Emptying the tip bins
• Carrying out checks on mobile plant, fuelling up, checking oil, water and greasing up.
• Carrying out a daily cleaning and housekeeping regime
• General operative duties

Key skills and experience needed to become our Material Processor:

Candidates must be reliable and willing to help.

For this role, it is essential to have experience of driving a loading shovel and a valid loading shovel licence. A forklift truck licence is also desirable.

Hours of Work:

4 on 4 off shift pattern : 06:00-18:00 hours

Average weekly hours: 40.25 hours
