Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant, Holmfirth
Ideally AAT Qualified or qualified by experience you will have a strong background working within accountancy practice providing accounting support for a wide range of clients.
We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to the work and have the ability to liaise with clients/other team members at all levels. You will be the key link between bookkeeping and year end accounts/tax return so you will be happy to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. Statutory accounts production experience would be a bonus but not essential (but you soon will have).
The role is broad and will include ensuring that the bookkeeping (be it in house or client produced) is complete/accurate and that all the key reconciliation/analytical review is completed; preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts, and acting as the key liaison point between bookkeeping and the year end work.
You will also be comfortable liaising with clients you will be guiding them through the process using a range of software packages including Xero, FreeAgent, and DEXT so good communication skills are a key and must be willing to pick up the phone as well as emailing them. Our clients appreciate our nagging and our approachable culture but expect prompt and practical responses.
Strong IT skills are essential for this role, particularly extracting information from accounting systems and clear and logical presentation of calculations and solutions through Excel. Being able to get Excel to make the bosses morning coffee isn’t a requirement (yet!).
You will need have a “can do” approach and be prepared to roll your sleeves up to ensure strict deadlines are met. You should have the ability to work autonomously but also be a key part of the team to give the client the best experience possible.
