Netherthong Pre-School & Out of School Club are looking to recruit an SEN Early Years Support for a few identified children needing 1-1 SEND support at our setting. We aim to provide a nurturing environment for all children and staff with wellbeing at the centre of our practice and ensure that all children have their needs met to thrive. We are looking for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about early years and looking to make a difference in young children’s lives by providing unique learning opportunities tailored to children’s individual support plans.
Applicants must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or above and ideally have experience of working with 2–4- year-olds with additional needs, however training and support can be provided for the right candidate. We offer a friendly and experienced staff team with lots of knowledge to pass on, along with the company of many lovely children to brighten your day!
Applicants will be required to communicate effectively with children ages 2-4 and their parents and must have a strong ability to work as a team member. Training will be provided on all relevant policies and procedures within our setting, including Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene and The Prevent Duty. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of the preschool team to provide safe, high-quality education and care of young children support identified needs with support plans and working closely with our SENCO. This also involves establishing good relationships with an identified group of children, scaffolding family relationships, recording observations to monitor progress and contributing to planning for next steps.
A DBS service check will be required for this position. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process. Any job offer will be conditional and be subject to the receipt of two satisfactory references.
The role is for 21 hours per week (term time) on a temporary contract until July 2024, however more hours may be available in other roles at the setting, and the contract will likely be extended into the following school year should the candidate want to keep a position at the setting. The pre-school and out of school club is open Monday to Friday 7:45am-5:45pm. However, required working hours for this position will likely be within the hours of 9-3pm making this an ideal position for someone who attend. The salary is competitive (£9.18-£11.00ph) dependent upon qualifications and experience with regular pay reviews.
