Out of School Club Playworker
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team at our before & After school Club and Holiday club. As a Play Worker, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children to play and learn. Candidates must have a natural rapport with children and a hardworking friendly nature.
Duties:
- Manage and supervise children during play activities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate games, crafts and educational activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care
- Maintain a clean and organized play area
- Communicate effectively with parents
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive environment
- Assist with snack time and mealtime routines
- Provide guidance and support to children as needed
Experience:
- Relevant Level 2 NVQ (or equivalent) or above in Play work would be advantageous.
- Previous experience working in a childcare setting is preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and engage children in activities
- Experience working with children 4 – 11 years old
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of safeguarding – Training will be given
Job type:
12 month Fixed term to cover maternity leave. Starting June 2024 to end May 2025
Expected hours:
18 – 21.5 hours per week Monday – Friday
Before School Club 7:20am – 9am, After School Club 3pm – 5:30/6pm, Holiday Club hours vary over 3 / 4 days.
Salary:
From £11.44 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
