MECHANIC/GREENKEEPER
Salary: £25,000 + overtime
Meltham Golf Club is a private members club that was founded in 1908 and has been developed over the years into a testing par 71 eighteen-hole course. It is situated to the south-west of Huddersfield in the foothills of the Pennines and enjoys a parkland setting with moorland views. The club is committed to invest and improve each year and as part of that we are now looking for a Mechanic/Greenkeeper to join Meltham Golf Club. The successful applicant will join the existing team of greenkeepers whose remit is to continue to develop, improve and maintain the course to the highest standard daily.
- Position overview and candidate attributes –
The role is to maintain and repair the club’s modern machinery fleet and equipment in accordance with the manufacture’s guidance. - To carry out daily checks and regular servicing to ensure the fleet is always ready to perform.
- The workshop is fitted with a 4-post ramp, welding station, lifting equipment and necessary tools needed to maintain equipment to a first-class standard.
- Access to PC for stock keeping, ordering parts, and scheduling work.
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and guidelines while maintaining and servicing machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical faults and be on hand to repair minor and major mechanical breakdowns.
- Maintain a well-organized, neat, and safe workshop environment.
- Be able to develop and implement a computerised maintenance programme for fleet and equipment.
- Competently and efficiently assist with on-course greenkeeping duties to the highest standard when instructed by the Course manager.
- PPE, uniform, and future training/courses will be provided.
- The chosen candidate will have excellent work ethic, timekeeping, and self-motivation. They will be reliable, trustworthy and demonstrate great teamwork skills to fit into a dedicated 6-man team.
Working Hours (Mon – Fri)
Apr – Sep 6:00am – 2:30pm
Oct – Mar 7:00am – 2:30pm
Weekend mornings rota – Paid and time in lieu.
