Sheards is a fast pace accountancy firm driven by a welcoming friendly team. We are currently recruiting for a full-time payroll focussed practice accountant to join our team.
The role is initially to support our payroll service throughout 2023 to cover for maternity leave. At the end of this payroll cover period the role will then become an extremely varied one covering most of our services, such as:
- Book-keeping and VAT returns
- Self Assessment tax returns
- Year end accounts preparation for small businesses
- A much reduced level of payroll work
The successful candidate will have experience of working in an accountancy practice in a varied role, performing a mixture of the work types listed above. They will be comfortable with the initial requirements during 2023 when the position will predominantly be the completion of client payrolls.
Applicants must have excellent organisation skills and a keen eye for detail. It is important that they have excellent communication skills as they will be required to liaise with clients by phone, email or face to face. We consider ourselves to be the friendly face of accountancy, so a positive approach to work is essential.
Other necessary attributes include good IT skills and experience in customer service. We use Bright Pay for the preparation of payroll. Prior experience of Bright Pay would be beneficial, but is not essential.
