Assistant Manager – Lu’s Place
As Lu’s Place continues to grow, we are in search of a dedicated and motivational individual to excel in the role of Assistant Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to join and assist in taking charge of an established team, work in a modern venue and contribute towards our reputation within the local community.
SCHEDULE
- Part time position available
- Must be able to work weekends
- Shifts allocated between 8am and 6pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist with managing the front of house team whilst delegating necessary tasks
- Oversee the day-to-day operation in the café managers absence
- Assist with dealing with any complaints or difficult situations
- Assist with stock replenishment and control
- Contribute to decision making processes
- Assist with social media content and ideas
- Communicate and relay information to the wider team
- Assist with training new employees
- Actively promote and upsell food and drinks items
- Have extensive knowledge of our menu and the ability to make recommendations
- Provide detailed information regarding ingredients and potential food allergies
- Clean and maintain customer areas to company standards
- Complete daily checklists
- Ensure food safety/hygiene compliance at all times
- Taking bookings over the phone and via email
- Responding to all enquiries and reviews where applicable
- Be a responsible key holder
- Take orders and payments via our electronic cloud-based system
- Make hot and cold beverages
- Serving food and drinks and clearing tables
YOU WILL
- Report directly to the Café Manager
- Have managerial/supervisory experience, preferably in a food business (desirable)
- Have a passion for fantastic customer service and a hands-on management style
- Listen and respond to our customers feedback and react accordingly
- Be confident in dealing with complaints and difficult situations
- Have experience of working within a busy catering environment and/or dealing with customers face-to-face
- Have bar and barista experience (desirable)
- Be highly reliable, trustworthy, and time conscious
- Be authoritative as and when required
- A ‘get things done’ attitude
- Be extremely hands on to support the team
- Be computer literate and have experience of using booking systems (desirable)
- Be confident in running end of day reports
- Be willing to undergo any training required to assist with your role
CAFÉ OPENING HOURS
6 days per week, Wednesday to Monday, increasing to 7 days per week in December.
Occasional evening shifts may be required for private hire and events.
