Admin Assistant – V&A Vigar Group

An opportunity to join our growing team in the heart of Holmfirth. The role is in the administration team supporting our accountancy practice but will involve plenty of client interaction.

Analytical by nature, you will have an eye for detail and be a committed finisher who is able to pick up concepts quickly and ask thoughtful questions – whether to colleagues or clients.

You will be experienced and confident with IT and particularly online systems. The role includes ensuring that client information has been correctly captured by a variety of Government websites and portals including lots of bits of HMRC and Companies House – and chasing when it isn’t! It works the other way too, checking on information from clients and official sources to update our electronic client files so that we’ve got everything we need, when it is needed.

Supporting our Office Co-Ordinator in chasing down information from clients and then tracking it through the office and out again is vital to help keep us ahead of client deadlines. Along the way you’ll be involved in checking that what we’ve been sent is really what we asked for and (just from time to time…*cough*) going back to explain gently but firmly to the client what we actually need!

Knowing how to communicate with a wide variety of people is key to the role. As is helping clients find answers to their questions or the right person in the firm to talk to about a knotty business conundrum. You will also be pulling together, finalising and checking documents and information packs to send out, setting up meetings and video calls and helping draw up proposals for clients.

Managing the directors’ diaries, answering the phone, greeting the occasional guest, checking that we’re not in danger of running out of coffee (key one!) and generally be a good egg around the office will all be part of the course.
