Receptionist and decontamination nurse
Location: Holmfirth Dental Surgery with flexibility to work at Meltham Dental Care when required
Position: Part-Time (22 hours) Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays – with flexibility to work other days – please note start times are 8.15am latest finish time 6.15pm
Salary: £10.00 – £12.21 per hour
We are a friendly and professional dental practice seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Dental Decontamination Nurse & Receptionist. This dual role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care and infection control.
Key Responsibilities
Decontamination Nurse Duties:
- Carry out the full cycle of instrument decontamination in line with HTM 01-05 guidelines
- Maintain sterilisation equipment and ensure proper record-keeping
- Monitor and manage stock of decontamination supplies
- Support clinical staff by ensuring timely availability of clean instruments
Receptionist Duties:
- Greet patients warmly and ensure an excellent front-of-house experience
- Schedule and manage appointments using dental practice software
- Handle patient inquiries via phone, email, and in-person
- Process payments and maintain accurate records
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality policies Requirements
- Previous experience in a dental or healthcare setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of infection control and decontamination processes
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
- Proficient in computer use
- Friendly, professional, and patient-focused
- Happy to have Hep B vaccination

Desirable Qualifications
- Valid DBS certificate
- Dental Reception experience
- Decontamination or cross-infection control trained
