Upholstery class sizes at Manorhouse School of Upholstery are small – up to 10 students per upholstery class, and the style is very hands-on. Upholstery is, after all, a practical craft – working with tools and fabrics from day one. Our upholstery courses are suitable for all experience levels – from “upholstery beginners” through to “lifelong practitioners”. And projects range from a simple piano stool to an antique chaise longue. You can learn upholstery with us, knowing that you will be supported throughout your journey.
We offer the following:
weekly recreational upholstery classes run over 12 sessions and where people bring their own project;
a selection of 1 – 4 day upholstery and soft furnishings courses where the content is structured and everyone on the course works at the same pace and on the same item;
our popular 12-week Modern Upholstery Course which runs 1 day per week over 12 weeks and includes 6 items of furniture.
a summer option of the Modern Upholstery course, which runs over 12 days during school summer holidays.
a 12-day Traditional Upholstery course, for those wishing to learn traditional skills, again this is 1 day per week for 12 weeks.
