Events & Admin Support Assistant
The Civic, Holmfirth
This is an interesting and flexible role for the right person to help support the work of The Civic, Holmfirth. The Civic is a Grade II listed building in the heart of Holmfirth, owned by Holme Valley Parish Council and run and managed on a day to day basis by Holmfirth Civic Hall Community Trust, who would be the employer for this role.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, your role will focus on supporting both regular and ad-hoc events and the organisers of those events, along with a range of administration duties required to ensure the smooth running of all building operations.
The role would be ideal for an experienced administrator used to providing excellent customer service, preferably with an events and/or volunteer management background. You’ll have a friendly manner both face to face and over the phone, be approachable and organised and be able to build strong relationships with our hirers and visitors, colleagues and our team of volunteers. Dedicated and efficient with an ability to handle a varied workload.
Pay and Remuneration
This is a part time role of 15 hours per week, mostly during core office hours of 9.30am to 2.30pm, but with some flexibility to support evening and weekend activity. Exact days to be agreed.
33 days holiday per year (pro-rata), including Bank Holidays.
£12.50-£13.50 per hour depending upon experience.

Personal Skills:
- Good communications skills, both verbal and written
- Time and priority management without detailed supervision
- Approachable and organised
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft, cloud-based accounting programmes and social media
Events Duties:
- Liaison with regular and ad-hoc hirers to support the efficient set up and running of their events/activities
- Ensuring rooms are set up as per hirers requirements, with some limited manual handling
- Supporting effective marketing of all events/activities through coordination of promotional materials, print, online and other as required
- Attending some events to provide on site support and coordination, both for the hirer and HCHCT
Admin Duties:
- Processing bookings and associated invoices, including credit control
- Coordinating staffing and volunteer rotas
- Updating hirer and event information
- Other general administration duties, as required
