The Archive Café is an independent neighbourhood café built around good coffee, thoughtful food, and genuine hospitality. We’re a place where people come to feel welcome — whether they’re regulars, passing through, or sitting quietly with a book.
Our focus is simple: quality without pretence, warmth without formality, and a calm, human atmosphere even when it’s busy.
The role
We’re looking for an experienced barista to join our small, friendly team on an ongoing basis.
While coffee is central to the role, this is a shared-responsibility café. Everyone helps everyone. You’ll be expected to support the wider café operation when needed, not stay fixed to one station.
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Confident barista experience
You must be comfortable working independently with espresso, milk texturing, and preparing a full range of drinks. - Strong people skills
This is a social café. Warmth, approachability, and ease with customers are essential. - A team-first mindset
You’ll help out across the café as needed — clearing tables, supporting colleagues, or stepping in during busy periods. - Reliability and care
Turning up, pulling your weight, and taking pride in the space matter here.
