Chef de Partie / Cook – The Carding Shed at Holmfirth
Location: Holmfirth
Salary: Competitive rates of pay based on experience
Hours: Full-time around 40 hours, including weekends and bank holidays
About Us: The Carding Shed is a thriving 120 seater cafe based on the outskirts of Holmfirth. Our unique vintage-motoring theme attracts a wide range of customers keeping our team busy throughout the year. As an independent business our team sit at the heart of everything we do, ensuring we deliver consistent service to all customers. All meals are cooked fresh each day including our cakes and traybake which are baked in-house daily.

About The Role:
As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for your own section of the kitchen, ensuring dishes are presented with consistency and to the highest standard. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef, supporting them in the smooth running of service and maintaining consistency across the menu. This is a hands-on role for someone with passion, discipline, and a genuine love of food.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and run your own section (e.g. grill, larder) during service.
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the required standard, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist with menu development and specials by contributing ideas.
- Monitor stock levels for your section, reporting shortages and helping with ordering.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations at all times.
About You:
We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or cook in a busy kitchen environment.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive and approachable attitude
