Michael Dyson Associates Ltd is an established, successful and prominent multi-disciplinary construction consultancy providing a comprehensive range of professional services to the housing sector.  Established in 1980 we have four decades of wide-ranging experience working with clients throughout the UK.  

The Role

Based at our modern Head Office in Huddersfield and offering a flexible/hybrid working environment, this is a new and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, able and driven individual who will assist with delivering an outstanding service to clients, providing high-level operational and administrative support to our in-house team of surveyors and team administrators.

Supporting and working alongside Project Managers to drive varied to work stages forward, following up on outputs, and focusing on maintaining task momentum to ensure successful service delivery.  The role involves creating and maintaining project-related documents such as work schedules, agendas and spreadsheets, attending client meetings and producing minutes/action plans, and employing document control when uploading/downloading documents, as well as supporting the team commercially with key administrative tasks such as producing presentations or reports, proof-reading and formatting to a high standard, diary management and event support such as training sessions.

This role would particularly suit somebody who has the ability to efficiently manage their own time, prioritise tasks efficiently and working to tight deadlines, often under pressure.  A keen and proactive team player with a positive attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage confidently with other internal parties and external clients.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Construction or housing related experience or knowledge would be advantageous 
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Teams and Excel, is essential.
  • Ability to assist in the management of document control systems (e.g., Viewpoint, SharePoint, or similar platforms).
  • A keenness to develop an understanding of construction and housing sector processes, including familiarity with RIBA stages and project lifecycle.
  • A willingness to support project delivery teams in pre-works, procurement, or construction phases.
  • Commitment to high standards of client care and service delivery.
  • Proactive problem-solver, identifying issues early and helping find practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, planning and data management skills
  • Experience in producing high quality documentation 
  • Collaborative team player, able to support project managers and administrators and contribute to a positive working culture.
  • Able to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, consultants and residents.
