The role:
As we continue to expand our UK operations, we’re looking for a technically skilled Field Service Engineer who thrives in a hands-on, problem-solving environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out service operations, including the inspection, maintenance, and repair of specialist fire and rescue vehicles. Your work will involve diagnosing and resolving engine faults, repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, conducting LOLER examinations, replacing components, and addressing bodywork damage. You will ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards, in line with customer expectations, relevant legislation, and company policies—with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and reliability.
This is a hybrid role, combining work at our head office in Holmfirth with field service assignments across the UK, and occasional opportunities to support operations in Europe. As part of your development, you will also have the chance to travel to our production facilities in Germany and Austria, gaining hands-on experience and advanced training with Rosenbauer’s world-class equipment and systems.
Required skills:
We’re looking for candidates with hands-on experience working on vehicle systems, particularly in mechanical and electrical disciplines. Qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (or equivalent) are highly beneficial. Additional experience with specialist systems—including access platforms (LOLER), cranes, hydraulics, and similar equipment—would be an advantage.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate flexibility, confidence, enthusiasm, and a strong ability to use your initiative in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
- Examining and testing vehicles
- Ability to read electrical diagrams
- Completing preventative maintenance such as oil changes, replacing filters and working to service schedules
- High quality work and attention to detail is imperative
- Customer-facing – confident communicator
- Strong IT skills beneficial

The package:
Permanent / Full-time Role
Salary – COMPETITIVE depending on experience (plus overtime – door to door)
Daily allowance for staying away (in addition to subsistence)
39.5 hours per week
25 days holiday allowance per annum plus stats (increasing with service)

Company shut down over Christmas period
