Welcome to Lane Farm Holiday Cottages, two luxury four-star Gold Award winning cottages set on a working sheep and beef farm, situated at the northern tip of the Peak District National Park, in the picturesque village of Holme, on the outskirts of Holmfirth, West Yorkshire.
Nestling on the south facing slope of the beautifully scenic Holme Valley, just below Holme Moss are Mount View and Trough Cottage. With their own cobbled driveway, parking area (with access to an electric car charging point), garden patio and superb views, these two fully centrally heated cottages provide luxurious ensuite accommodation and relaxation. The cottages can be internally accessed for larger parties of up to eleven people. Mount View sleeps six people and Trough Cottage sleeps five (plus double sofa bed for an additional two people). Ideal for family reunions, special celebrations, business courses etc.
The Upper Holme Valley provides some of the finest walking country imaginable, with the Pennine Way running through the moor. For the avid cyclist, the cottages sit at the foot of Holme Moss, the iconic climb made famous by the 2014 Tour de France.
The cottages are situated just three miles from Holmfirth, with its many pubs and restaurants to tempt even the most discerning palate. Holmfirth is where the popular BBC TV programme ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ was filmed, five miles away in the Colne Valley, ITV’s ‘Where the Heart Is’ was filmed and within 20 miles is Halifax where filming of ‘Happy Valley’ and ‘Last Tango in Halifax’ took place.
Holmfirth has an annual Music Festival, Food and Drink Festival, Art Week, Festival of Folk, Brass Band Contest, Tractor Rally; weekly country markets, and is also home to Bamforth Postcards. Holmfirth Picturedrome hosts numerous pop concerts and other musical events – so no shortage of things to see and do.
With Huddersfield just 10 miles away, the M1 and M62 motorways are within easy reach providing access to the major cities of Bradford, Leeds, Manchester, Wakefield and Sheffield. Both Leeds Bradford Airports and Manchester are within a one hour commute.
