3-4 year old Senior Lead – Netherthong Preschool and out of school club

An exciting new position has opened up at our setting due to a team restructure. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed 3–4-year-old Senior Lead. The role will require the successful candidate to help lead, support and motivate our friendly team as part of a joint deputy role. As well as plan and deliver the early year curriculum to our 3–4-year-old (pre-school) cohort from September 2024.

Netherthong Pre-School is a happy and vibrant setting, which has recently made huge improvements to the quality of education provided leading to an Ofsted rating of Good in all areas when inspected in October 2022. Our setting is extremely popular, and we are proud to be oversubscribed for the coming academic year.

Successful applicants will have the skills to manage the education and care of our 3-4 year old cohort under the setting managers direction and have the vision to make the educational experience truly outstanding for our children and families. In the absence of the setting manager, you will have joint responsibility with the other lead for compliance with all regulatory requirements and for maintaining positive working relationships with staff, parents and carers. The 3-4 year old group lead will also work closely with our local primary school to ensure a smooth transition for children as they leave the Pre-School and start their new adventure.

We are looking for someone who:

-Is committed to inspiring enthusiasm and progress in Early Years Education

-Has high expectations of all children and staff in the setting

-Can work well as part of a forward-thinking team

-Has a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in childcare

-Has at least 2 years’ experience working in an Early Years setting and preferably supervisory experience within this

-Has good written and verbal skills for report writing, maintaining child records and providing feedback to parents/carers and colleagues

-Has a thorough knowledge of child development and a good understanding of specific needs of individual children.

-Preferably has experience of working with 3-4 year old children and a secure understanding of appropriate developmental expectations of this age group.

Hours: 32-37 hours per week, across Monday- Friday within our opening hours of 7:30-5:30, with a potential day off each week

Length of contract: Permanent (subject to the completion of a successful 6-month probation period)

Salary: £12.59ph annual salary tbc dependent on agreed working hours
