Holmfirth Arts Festival Takes Place This Weekend (17-19 September)

Holmfirth Arts Festival takes place this weekend (17-19 September) and promises something for all ages at its indoor and outdoor gigs.

There are plenty of family friendly performances – including a flying astronaut whizzing through the streets of Holmfirth (yes really), outdoor theatre from Circo Rum Baba and their huge whale, aerial acrobats, indoor theatre, music, comedy and even a street parade on  you can get involved with on Sunday afternoon from 2pm.

All street performances during the daytime in the centre of Holmfirth, are Pay What You Decide donations.

The indoor programme is ticketed with special discounts for families.

Bev Adams, festival director, said: “We are funded by the Arts Council England to bring high quality arts and culture for all ages, which undoubtedly offers a boost for mental health, physical and social wellbeing.

“If you already know Holmfirth and the Holme Valley, the festival is an opportunity to see it a little differently. If you’ve not yet discovered this beautiful part of Yorkshire, then September is the perfect time to join us.”

Highlights include a trio of comedians, starring Kieran Hodgson supported by Pete Selwood and Seeta Wrightson on the Saturday night of September 18, at Holmfirth Civic Hall.

Hade Edge Band and Biscuit Head and the Biscuit Badgers plus Mambo Jambo also perform live music over the weekend.

All performances at Holmfirth Arts Festival – indoor and out – are planned to be covid aware.
