Attend the ‘Tech Tree Surgery’ Ancestry Course and discover more about your family’s past at The Tech Holmfirth

Have you often wondered who you might be related to? Is someone famous in your family tree? Have you never known your grandparents but wondered what sort of life they led?

Aimed at those new to researching family history, the first ‘taster’ session of this six-week course will help you discover the basics of genealogy.

In subsequent sessions, you will dive into your family history and develop your family tree to support your ancestry research. We will cover birth, death and marriage certificates in more detail, Parish and Census records, military and prison records, interesting occupations, and tips on breaking down those brick walls.

Computer equipment and Wifi access will be provided, or you can bring your own laptop or tablet.

The cost of the six-week course, running from Monday, 4 July 2022 (1pm to 3pm or 7pm to 9pm sessions) is £50, payable upfront to the Tech at the time of booking, or you can pay weekly @ £10 per session.

All proceeds from this course will be supporting the Tech.
