DESCRIPTION:Chair Pilates Mondays 1.15pm-2pm\nThanks to a successful bid for National Lottery Community Funding\, we are proud to announce a new and exciting initiative\, supporting older people and the elderly within Thongsbridge and our neighbouring communities of Holmfirth\, New Mill and Wooldale.  \nWhatever the barriers may have been to date for these individuals participating in an active pastime – perhaps increased demands and challenges as a direct result of the cost-of-living crisis\, existing mobility issues\, disabilities\, mental health needs\, or even long-term illnesses – our welcoming team has developed the most accessible classes to encourage all to take part. \nOur classes will help rebuild confidence\, self-esteem\, and improve both mental and physical health\, combatting feelings of isolation and anxiety. The opportunity to build new relationships and friendships will ultimately provide a valuable support network as each is able to socially connect with others in the surrounding community. \nOur sessions are greatly subsidised and are available to non-members\, over the age of 60. They have been designed to rebuild strength\, improve mobility and essentially\, balance – ideal for those whose fear of falling is sometimes a barrier to getting out. All activity is low impact\, and no previous experience of sport\, fitness or movement classes is necessary\, our instructors work to the pace of each individual. \nInterested in gaining a little more independence and improving your quality of life in great company? Then contact us today for details of how to join in these welcoming sessions! \nClasses cost just £3\, which includes a coffee or tea in our Courtside Café – perfect for a social catch up afterwards! \n\n\n\nA selection of low impact exercises for a full body workout which can be done seated or standing. This includes strengthening of the muscles\, mobility of the joints and a good kick starter to getting the body moving again! No experience is needed for this class\, as we aim to help and encourage everyone through the exercises in a safe and supportive environment.

The courses will be held at our dedicated language school equipped with all the latest technology and run by our professional team of language teachers. SUMMARY:Wood Carving Classes (Beginners) with Jamie Frost Studio
DESCRIPTION:Carving is a beautiful process. The textures\, sounds and aroma of the materials will awaken your senses\, accompanied by the rhythms of each student driving chisel with mallet. In this class you’ll work using finest quality hand tools to carve green timber. Everything is provided. You’ll be shown how to care for tools and where to acquire your own. \nNo previous experience is required. Your first class will take the form of a structured introduction to the tools and processes involved. You’ll then move on to your first project. This is a guided workshop with a maximum of eight participants\, where the tutor is on hand to provide tuition\, advice and assistance as you develop your own project. After your first relief is completed we’ll discuss a more advanced project for your net term of study. Previous students have made everything from a Möbius strip to a woodblock printing plate\, along with many animals\, figures\, heads\, owls\, green men… \nThe workshop is open from 4-6pm each Wednesday. SUMMARY:Life Drawing (Thursdays) with Jamie Frost Studio
DESCRIPTION:This class takes place at the Sculpture Lounge Studios- home to a growing number of professional artists. Classes are led by Jamie Frost\, a figurative art specialist with a particular passion for drawing. \nDrawing is a very personal thing so it’s important to me that the atmosphere of my classes is welcoming and accepting. Small groups of people help each other to understand what they are doing\, regardless of experience\, whilst I provide a structure\, tuition\, and advice which can move things forward. \nMy sessions take into account the complete beginner but we also have plenty of more experienced artists involved. \nIn order to attend you just have to bring yourself and some enthusiasm.
