Pattern Cutting Demo with Pocket Clothing at Fairtrader
Throughout February and March Thread RePublic will be holding a pop up shop upstairs at Fair Trader in Holmfirth! Pop along Saturday mornings 10-12 for a chat with us as we demonstrate different upcycling and sustainable craft techniques.
Slow Fashion designer-maker Holly will be demonstrating some live pattern cutting upstairs at Fairtrader on Saturday morning. Pattern cutting is the process of translating design details and body measurements into a 2D template that will be used to cut out the fabric pieces that are sewn together to make the garment. Pop on up to see what’s involved in the early stages of making clothing, a sight not often seen in the public eye!
As part of our residency we’ll also be running workshops, socials and other things you can get involved in.
