DESCRIPTION:Chair Pilates Mondays 1.15pm-2pm\nThanks to a successful bid for National Lottery Community Funding\, we are proud to announce a new and exciting initiative\, supporting older people and the elderly within Thongsbridge and our neighbouring communities of Holmfirth\, New Mill and Wooldale.  \nWhatever the barriers may have been to date for these individuals participating in an active pastime – perhaps increased demands and challenges as a direct result of the cost-of-living crisis\, existing mobility issues\, disabilities\, mental health needs\, or even long-term illnesses – our welcoming team has developed the most accessible classes to encourage all to take part. \nOur classes will help rebuild confidence\, self-esteem\, and improve both mental and physical health\, combatting feelings of isolation and anxiety. The opportunity to build new relationships and friendships will ultimately provide a valuable support network as each is able to socially connect with others in the surrounding community. \nOur sessions are greatly subsidised and are available to non-members\, over the age of 60. They have been designed to rebuild strength\, improve mobility and essentially\, balance – ideal for those whose fear of falling is sometimes a barrier to getting out. All activity is low impact\, and no previous experience of sport\, fitness or movement classes is necessary\, our instructors work to the pace of each individual. \nInterested in gaining a little more independence and improving your quality of life in great company? Then contact us today for details of how to join in these welcoming sessions! \nClasses cost just £3\, which includes a coffee or tea in our Courtside Café – perfect for a social catch up afterwards! \n\n\n\nA selection of low impact exercises for a full body workout which can be done seated or standing. This includes strengthening of the muscles\, mobility of the joints and a good kick starter to getting the body moving again! No experience is needed for this class\, as we aim to help and encourage everyone through the exercises in a safe and supportive environment.

DESCRIPTION:This is a weekly course starting Monday 8th September where you will learn the basics of this beautiful language. The courses will be held at our dedicated language school equipped with all the latest technology and run by our professional team of language teachers. With the option to attend either during the day 1-2:30pm or in the evening 7:30-9pm. Oh and if you can’t attend in person (and occasional class or all of them) there is the option to join online. These classes are fun and interactive and great chance to make friends as well as learn Italian. We also offer extra activities including film study session. Wine tastings and cookery evening. DESCRIPTION:Friday\, May 8th to Sunday May 10th\n\nWhy come to Holmfirth Festival of Folk?Holmfirth is a small pennine town which comes to life during the Festival of Folk. There has been a folk festival in Holmfirth for more than 40 years. 2026 will be the 48th! We pride ourselves on producing a community based festival involving schools\, local talent\, most businesses in the town and\, of course\, a small band of volunteers. Our income is tiny compared to most festivals on the circuit and comes mainly from sponsorship\, grants\, public collections and ticket sales.\nThe Festival isn’t just about concerts (DETAILS OF WHICH ARE BELOW)\, it’s also about Community involvement and fun. We will have a wonderful Schools concert \, street theatre\, lots of dancing and performances by local groups. The Parish and the Methodist Churches are important venues who\, kindly\, host events and activities.\n​Other parts of Holmfirth festival of Folk are our fringes. We have our Family Fringe of street theatre\, family friendly events and activities\,  and\, of course\, our Musical Fringe where town centre venues such as The Nook\, O’Briens Bottle Shop\, Taphouse\, The Elephant and Castle\, The PostCard\, The Old Bridge\, Ten-14 and Cooper’s Yard host artistes.  For a free Family Fringe Timetable\, click HERE \nFingers crossed that we have our Fringe artist line-up finalised ! Expect to see; a great variety of talent  \nOnce again\, we demonstrate that “Folk” is a broad church to be enjoyed by everyone. DESCRIPTION:Wellbeing Day at Eden’s Forest  In collaboration with Sarah Branson – Forest Bathing Practitioner\nWe’ve opened bookings for our next Wellbeing Day in the Woods on Saturday 9th May\, 10am-3pm and this one is open to everyone. \nA full day to slow down\, reset and reconnect. We’ll be offering mindful crafts including willow and rattan weaving\, beading and whittling\, plus full access to our woodland site (with a dopamine‑boosting zipline moment for anyone who fancies it 🙂 \nWe’re also joined by our specialist Forest Therapy Practitioner Sarah\, who’ll lead an optional session in forest bathing\, through mindful connection to nature. With the bluebells out\, it’s a beautiful time to be in the woods. \nThis is the kind of experience we usually deliver for team wellbeing… but this one is open to the public.\nThe day is fully catered with wood‑fired pizzas\, with all dietary requirements catered for.\nIf you’re ready for a proper reset\, we’d love to welcome you.
