It was the language of ancient philosophers\, poets\, and playwrights like Plato\, Aristotle\, Homer\, and Sophocles. Learning Greek allows you to engage with classical literature and explore the roots of Western civilization. \nGreece has a vibrant and influential culture. By learning Greek\, you can delve deeper into Greek mythology\, art\, architecture\, and music. You can also gain a better understanding of Greek traditions\, customs\, and way of life. \nMoreover\, Greece is a popular tourist destination\, and knowing the local language can greatly enhance your travel experience. Speaking Greek allows you to communicate with locals\, navigate the country more easily\, and gain insights into the local culture that may not be as accessible otherwise. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur Greek Classes\nThese classes provide a welcoming and engaging environment for adult learners to explore the complexities of Greek grammar\, vocabulary\, and pronunciation. The courses are taught Tina Roussou\, who is a native Greek speaker\, and experienced language teacher. As well as being passionate about her mother tongue she loves sharing the culture and history of her people. She is also a highly skilled linguist who holds a degree in English Language with German as well as a PGCE teaching qualification.

DESCRIPTION:This class takes place at the Sculpture Lounge Studios- home to a growing number of professional artists. Classes are led by Jamie Frost\, a figurative art specialist with a particular passion for drawing. \nDrawing is a very personal thing so it’s important to me that the atmosphere of my classes is welcoming and accepting. Small groups of people help each other to understand what they are doing\, regardless of experience\, whilst I provide a structure\, tuition\, and advice which can move things forward. \nMy sessions take into account the complete beginner but we also have plenty of more experienced artists involved. \nIn order to attend you just have to bring yourself and some enthusiasm. SUMMARY:Wood Carving Classes (Beginners) with Jamie Frost Studio
DESCRIPTION:Carving is a beautiful process. The textures\, sounds and aroma of the materials will awaken your senses\, accompanied by the rhythms of each student driving chisel with mallet. In this class you’ll work using finest quality hand tools to carve green timber. Everything is provided. You’ll be shown how to care for tools and where to acquire your own. \nNo previous experience is required. Your first class will take the form of a structured introduction to the tools and processes involved. You’ll then move on to your first project. This is a guided workshop with a maximum of eight participants\, where the tutor is on hand to provide tuition\, advice and assistance as you develop your own project. After your first relief is completed we’ll discuss a more advanced project for your net term of study. Previous students have made everything from a Möbius strip to a woodblock printing plate\, along with many animals\, figures\, heads\, owls\, green men… \nThe workshop is open from 4-6pm each Wednesday.
