A free event in the New Mill Community Garden, Sude Hill, New Mill.
Launch event at 7.30 pm on Friday, June 17th
The installations will be in situ until June 26th
Great place for children: full of visual surprises!
The many wonderfully inventive art installations will all be connected to the Holmfirth Arts Festival theme of ‘The Earth Beneath Our Feet’. The garden is a lovely space in which to wander around, while exploring and enjoying the art.
One of these installations will be a beautiful tree, brilliantly decorated by celebrated local felt artist, Sue Clay. This tree will be transformed into a ‘poetry tree’ as it will be festooned in (reachable and readable) haiku poems by members of Holmfirth Writers’ Group.
At 12 noon and at 2pm on Saturday 18th, there will be story and poetry readings for children and their families, around the base of the felted poetry tree – a free event for everyone!
