The first festival took place in September 2025. \nIn the years to come the festival hopes to grow further and become a destination for book lovers all over the UK. \nThe festival is passionate about getting children excited about books\, and is non-profit organisation\, Holmfirth Book Festival CIC\, run by five local volunteers including the founders of Read Bookshop. \nThe 2026 festival will be on 26th and 27th September\, with some brilliant authors and illustrators lined up.
